Healing from Trauma Takes Time
Trauma often stems from experiences of violence, oppression, or abuse. It can be the result of a single incident, or be caused by a lifetime of living in a world that’s unjust. Any of these experiences can impact us in ways that are difficult to fully understand or know how to cope with.
Sometimes the effects are clear, and we find ourselves overwhelmed by flashbacks, triggers, or episodes of dissociation. Other times, it can be harder to identify the source of our symptoms—perhaps you experience a sense of disconnection from others, overwhelming anxiety, or a profound sadness that’s hard to shake.
Imagining a different kind of life can feel challenging, but I know it’s possible. Together, we can work to lessen the effects of trauma while deepening your sense of safety and agency—empowering you to create a life that’s richer in joy, meaning, and connection.

Trauma affects everyone differently, and there is no single path to healing.
As a therapist, I work with many different kinds of trauma, including developmental, sexual, relational, and birth trauma. Here are some ways that trauma therapy might help:
Understand Trauma
Explore how past experiences have shaped your story, your nervous system, and your way of responding in the present.
Navigate Triggers
Build skills to manage dissociation, flashbacks, and overwhelming emotions.
Building embodied safety
Orient to safety and build more trust in yourself and your decisions.
live with more ease
Work to lessen symptoms of depression, anxiety and self-doubt.
connect with Your Body
Use somatic therapy to come home to yourself.
Strengthen Relationships
Feel more present, connected, and fulfilled in your relationships.
FAQs
-
I work from two primary modalities:
Narrative Therapy – A respectful, anti-oppressive approach that helps clients explore how they relate to their experiences and reshape their personal narratives in empowering ways.
Somatic Therapy – A body-centred method that supports trauma processing by working with the nervous system and physical awareness. I draw on techniques from Somatic Experiencing and Generative Somatics.
My approach is collaborative and client-centred. I tailor tools and resources to each person, and my work is grounded in feminism, anti-racism, and social justice values to ensure a space that feels affirming and inclusive.

My rate for individual and couples therapy sessions is $160 per 50-minute session or $240 per 80-minute session.

I provide therapy sessions in-person at my Ottawa office or online via a secure telehealth platform.
For in-person sessions, my office is centrally located in Ottawa’s Centretown, on MacLaren St.

The office is on the first floor, with three large steps leading to the front door. There is a ramp that goes to the back door, but the doorways are too narrow for most wheelchairs to fit through. If you have any questions about office accessibility, please feel free to reach out.

I accept cash, cheque, or e-transfer. Payment is due on the same day as our appointment.
-
Appointments can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice at no charge. If you cancel within 48 hours or do not attend your session, the full session fee will be charged.
