As the owner of Venus Envy Ottawa, I have a strong background in the world of sexual health. I'm passionate about all things sex- and sexuality-related, and I have over a decade of experience in the field. I enjoy working with people as they navigate all types of sexual issues, including physical changes, relationship concerns, sexual shame or guilt, and challenges with arousal, orgasm, and desire.

I also believe in a holistic view of sexuality. Sexual issues rarely happen in a vacuum, and are connected to our lives and relationships in various ways. Our work together may include dealing with problems that we may consider outside the realm of sexuality, and I welcome those conversations as well.

I also have extensive experience working within non-monogamous and LGBTTQ2SIA communities, including with queer and trans folks who have experienced intimate partner violence. I am kink-aware and sex worker-friendly.

My Approach

As a therapist, my work is guided by Narrative Therapy. The stories we tell shape our lives, whether they're about ourselves, about others, or about our relationships. When we are experiencing difficulties, often our stories are problem-centred, and I believe that my work is in helping you find the values, skills and strategies that will help you to create change.

I take a collaborative, client-centred approach to therapy. Everyone is a little different, so I bring in tools and resources that seem most suited to the person in front of me. I also work from a feminist, anti-racist, sex-positive and trauma-informed framework.

As an educator, I also seek to help participants deconstruct stories and myths that have had negative impacts on their lives. I use humour and storytelling when appropriate, and integrate a variety of personal and small group exercises.

My therapy practice is supervised by Amy Druker, MSW, RSW.
